Very nice. If I am not mistaken, those are hand made by Alejandro Cervantes himself. It should make for a lovely guitar.

Spoke with Mr Cervantes today and he confirmed that he did build it, he was very kind with his explanations of the various designs. He is also backed up for a number of months with back orders. glad i bought now vs trying to wait.

Beginning to think that I was fortunate with the one I received from Gryphon. So sorry to hear about your disappointments.

Default what to do?

Sammy, I'm curious.... are you hoping that Cervantes will repair/correct it for you or are you just going for a refund?

I'm still in limbo--my guitar arrived back in Atlanta yesterday. I'm waiting for George over at Maple Street Guitars to evaluate and let me know what he thinks. Over the phone, he had come to the conclusion that the trouble was some kind of internal truss rod issue. ??? We'll see.

Did you like the guitar enough to want to give it a second chance?

Just curious.

OK, so right after my last post, I got a phone call from George--owner of Maple Street Guitars. He'd been playing the guitar for a couple of hours and had made a slight truss rod adjustment and believes that he's corrected the problem.

I'm going to give it another go. He's going to get it in the mail tomorrow. I'm almost scared to play it. I really WANT it to sound great....

I was impressed by George's knowledge and commitment to making this deal "right" and going the extra steps. I'd recommend Maple Street to any of you.

Fortunatley I live in san Diego as does cervantes, he has said he would oversee the problem himself. So i will keep the guitar and trust the buzz will be fixed. He is in Mexico till Friday so it will be several weeks till I know the outcome

Nice! I'm sure he'll be able to fix it up for you.

I'm in the lovely Appalachian mountains. It's beautiful here, but not very convenient to things that aren't hiking, canoeing, or deer hunting (all of which I enjoy). Not many classical guitar luthiers in the area... Several guys that make mandos & drednaughts & such.

Good luck with your problem.

I have a new custom Signature Cervantes Crossover so this one is now up for sale. I have it listed in the classifieds on this forum. Comes with lots of extras. These sell quickly so don't hesitate to inquire if you are interested.

Default Bracing question

I emailed Steve in Dream guitars back in April 2010 and i was informed that the Cervantes Crossovers are fan braced not lattice braced with the exception of their Millenia model.

Am i missing something here? Custom model perhaps?
