V braced, right? The one played in the Instagram vid has the black nut...

Yes, I'm told that he originally developed the V brace for this model. They initially went to market with the GA models instead. But, who knows? It's all hearsay.

And I would not be switching. Just adding I have 25 dreads in my collection and no Taylor dreads. The couple that made their way into my stable had very short stays. This hasn't been from lack of trying as I literally have played hundreds of them including lots of older hand built ones and they were all too bright and well, didn't sound like a dread to me.

This Grand Pacific on the other hand sounds delightful and I will have one for sure
Ha! You haven't heard my all walnut (including the top) dread. :-)

It must be an old design - Michael Caine looks quite young in that picture.

Definitely interesting. I don’t understand those wanting a Martinish dread tone from Taylor. I want my Taylor dreads to sound like a Taylor. The Gibson type of sound is my other favorite sound beside Taylor dreads and I’m not sure how I feel about them going that direction. I’d definitely like to try it though.

Also are they still going to make square shoulder dreads or will all dreads be this grand pacific model?

Interesting - looks like a not-quite-Gibson/not-quite-Larrivee L-body in the pic, and there's no question Andy knows what he's doing...

I want one...

Wow — great sleuthing, folks!

Pretty smart to get one in the hands of Sean Watkins. I’m really interested to see and hear more of this model in a couple weeks.

Does kind of have a Gibson thump to it, huh? At least in that clip.

That was my thought too, kind of like a Larrivee L-body.

Two questions; where and how were you able to play it, and why would anyone looking for the Martin tone buy a Taylor? A Taylor that looks like a Gibson no less.

There are lots of reasons why.. but at the end of the day this is a very smart move for Taylor. I haven't been playing guitar as long as some you but for the past 20 years I can't recall walking into a music store and seeing walls of expensive Taylor Dreads. The high end dread market has been dominated by Martin, Gibson, and the boutique builders. Taylors previous dreads did not resonate with folks looking for a more classic or traditional sounding tone. The grasser market especially has been left unchallenged.

I've been wondering when we'd see this slope shouldered dread since that photo ran in Wood & Steel a while back. Love the burst in the Instagram video. Can't wait to see it in person.

I Immediately thought it looked like a Larrivee L body type. I loved the look of the burst in the Instagram clip, sounded real good too.

I'm all in, for one of these.

Looks great, sounds great in the Instagram clip, and quite certain it will be flawless in construction.

If you say "My Cocaine", it sounds exactly how Michael Caine pronounces his own name.

It kind of reminds me of my old Seagull SWS series.
