Hi Guys.

I thought it is a good idea to start this thread. Not sure if it was started in the past. For you to post pictures of your GS Mini and discuss anything related to this very compact but popular guitar that has taken the world by storm.

Here’s my koa, which is 1 year old and I got it new. I play with this guitar more than my other guitars although it is not my latest acquisition. The pattern on the woodgrain is not the nicest I’ve seen but it kind of reminds me of the Hawaiian waves (seen via TV) although I have yet to visit Hawaii...lol.

Great! Is the Gs mini-e koa suitable for doing gigs or performing on stage?

I used mine for one the very day I bought it actually. I'd say it depends on you.

Hi Guys. I managed to snap some shots of my other Gs mini Spruce/Sepele. Also 1 year old, bought new. This guitar is “flamed” and has some bear claws (which are not evenly spread). I wonder if there is such a term as flamed spruce. Bridge pins changed to cattle bone with abalone.

Owned it for a year now. It's been my only guitar but will be joined in 2 days by a Collings Baby.

What I added to my GS Mini:
  • Koa truss rod cover
  • Gold locking tuners and hardware
  • Abalone inlayed bridge pins

Hi nolegsfngrpuckn.

I saw your posting in another thread about the ES-B tuner & electronics that is attached to our batch of Gs minis. I noticed that the earlier batch of Gs mini had the ES-2 e-system on their guitars. Also noticed that the currect Taylor guitars (full size guitars, almost all the different series) use the ES-2 e-system. Makes me wonder why only Gs mini and Baby Taylor and some academy models use ES-B e-system? Although I personally find it neater, just having to pluck-in where the sling knob is. My question is, “Is the ES-2 system better than the ES-B one? Since the higher-end model are using the former?” Topic for discussion...

Here is my 2016 Koa mini with the ES2. I’m sorta torn on mine. Some days I love it and other days I can’t stand it. Gonna string it up with lights and let my son use it for guitar lessons.

It’s actually darker in color when you see it in person. The back is very unique, in my opinion.

Here is my koa one...I play it quite a bit. It has opened up nicely. I added the black pickguard to protect it, and thought it went well with the black headstock. I am glad Taylor is now using wood veneer headstocks instead of the black lexan. The back of mine is kind of plain, but the top is pretty nice me thinks!

I have a Koa e. Great guitar I can’t photograph as I leave it in Austin for when I come over. Great guitar, great pickup, and the SKB hard case i bought is great too.

I have the e-spruce/walnut. Not worth taking pics as it just looks like any other guitar as far as I'm concerned. I discovered the mini after a wrist injury made playing full scale guitars difficult. About 7 months later now my wrist is fine, but I don't know if I will ever play my other guitars. I love the way the mini sounds and plays, and the small size makes it comfortable to play anywhere. I am playing more guitar than I have in years.

Just your basic spruce & sapele from 2012 (as above, no pix needed), but what a wonderful guitar!
I'm still tying to figure out how Taylor made such a marvelous 3/4 guitar.
