Yamaha builds very good instruments.

I have a 22 year old Yamaha classical guitar. Very well constructed guitar, impressive craftsmanship similar to other higher end brands.

I was a little surprised to see that girl cut those guitar tops on a band saw without a template or something.

When I first started visiting this forum it was to soak up as much knowledge about acoustic guitar as possible. When I purchased my 'next step' guitar, it fit the criteria I learned which I thought I needed... all solid wood, hand built and in this case 'made in a fairly small Canadian shop'. Great guitar, but not what I expected, very simple and fundamental in its tone. I found myself frequently reaching for my Yamaha, the cheap 'beater' I got because of how impressed I was with the sound at the music store. So, I sold the 'small shop' guitar and got a better version of the guitar which won me over by playing, not by what I thought I needed with the fancy name on the head stock.

I'm sold on Yamaha.

I only own one actually, but might be adding a nylon from them sometime later this year.

Good to hear, Jambi.

I imagine if you do something hundreds of times a day, for weeks on end, you get pretty dang good and consistently cutting out the right size.

You gotta be careful though! My grandpa, the butcher, accidentally backed into the meat grinder and got a little behind in his work!

Really enjoyable video. It’s interesting to see the mass production of the individual parts. You’ve got to give credit to any company that invests so heavily in creating an assembly line to create a product. I’m not familiar with Yamaha guitars but after seeing the video I’ll have to check them out.

Good video. Thanks for sharing. It is interesting to see the mix of technology and hand work in this kind of very high volume manufacturer.

I have a Yamaha LL16R. It's a beautiful instrument in both looks and sound. It's as good as my Taylor 314CE, which cost twice as much.

Thanks for posting. It shows that good and great guitars can and are made in China.

Couldn't agree more. I have a LS16R, which is definitely on par with the Martins and Taylors which costs 2 to 3 times more.
