Denny has been very up front that the DVDs would be out after the theater release and they are on the way next month. And, yes, there will be extras on the DVDs. If you saw any of the pre-release screenings, there were additions to the theatrical release that made it that came just barely before the premier.

Worth the wait folks. We're almost there!

I've gotten the impression that Carol Kaye is not a big fan of the end product. Any idea why ?

I just got a copy on Blu-Ray from Netflix. It's well worth seeing.

I also saw the documentary about the Muscle Shoals studios, which is also worth seeing. But the Muscle Shoals movie has lots of padding, where you can tell the filmmakers said: "Okay, now gaze out over the water, and look soulful..." (or words to that effect.) There's a LOT of soulful gazing into the middle distance by LOTS of people in that film.

"The Wrecking Crew" movie, by contrast, is overstuffed with interviews. And as The Growler has mentioned, there are endless extras to go with it!

What's more, I can't recall anyone posing awkwardly and gazing off anywhere in "The Wrecking Crew."

I've also seen the movie about Ginger Baker. Swell guy.

All three of those films are well worth watching, but I'd rate "The Wrecking Crew" as the best of the three.

I don't know why or even if that's true. She certainly is in a lot of the interviews and played, etc. also, in the bonus footage. There is nothing negative or anything less than positive about her anywhere in the production. I cannot think of any reason for her to not be supportive. Everyone I've met who was involved is very supportive and glad for the story to be told and was happy to be interviewed, participate in the screenings, etc.

It's a great story and she was part of it. Cool!

Thank you for the review Wade. About Ginger, he's a real peach to be sure.

Hey, followed you down the rabbit hole.

Wow--Carol Kaye is a first-rate star. The things I learn that I should have already known....

She totally hates it. Go to her FB page, Carol King II or her website.

I live near my siblings who are still in our home town. When I visit them I am amazed at a castle-like house built on the river. It was right around the corner and there used to be a nice house there, now a huge castle-house. Never said anything about it, just the nicest house for hundreds of miles, IMO.

Yesterday, we were at a family holiday dinner and I was chatting with my two guitar mentor siblings. I mentioned what I learned about Tommy Tedesco, from this very thread.

They replied "yeah. The new owners bulldozed his house to build that castle-house on the river"

"wait...what?.....he lived THERE?!? like literally around the corner from us?"

I had no idea I passed his house thousands of times.

If you are very interested in a story like that I highly recommend Muscle Shoals.
I've seen both and while they are both about similar subjects, they are not the same. I recommend seeing both films as well as "Tom Dowd and the Language of Music."
