Jasmine By Takamine Age
I am convinced that this information is out there somewhere! I recently purchased a Jasmine by Takamine S34C to travel with in my little RV. It's an older one, and I'm curious about how Takamine noted date of build, I assume, in the serial number. I understand they used a different method for the Jasmine than they used for their Takamine name guitars. I also read somewhere that these particular guitars were only in production from 1994 to 2003, but I don't know if that's true. The serial number of my guitar is 9600240, so I thought that maybe the 96 was its birth year just like it would be for a Takamine. But then I saw one on Ebay with a serial number that started with 86, so that didn't jibe with the 94 start-of-production date I had read. Is there anyone who could shed some light on this? Thanks!

Hi lorilee, Welcome to the forum. I do remember seeing some Jasmine around. They were VERY cheap guitars, and probably built in some outsourced factory in the far east.
Sometimes we lack good information about far more expensive brands, and I'm afraid I doubt that you'll find out much. Regards,

Thank you for your kind reply! What you say makes perfect sense; however, hope springs eternal... [emoji4]
