Default I guess I'm just an Eastman guy

A while back I picked up an Eastman E8D from Sun Valley guitars. To be honest I actually have decided I like it better than my Martin D-35 and my Martin D-18 M. deluxe. So I decided to send my D-18 to Brian to sell on consignment for me. In the meantime I also ordered an Eastman E10D from him to replace the D-18. And once again I was totally surprised how good it sounds. So I decided to send him my Martin D-35 to sell also. I'm thinking about checking out the Eastman E20om too. I'm sorry Martin but I just cant hear a triple price sound difference in your guitars. Don't get me wrong I like Martin guitars. They do have that Martin sound. But I have to admit I like the sound of some of the Eastman models a little better. I want to give a shout to Brian at Sun Valley Guitars too. He has been really great to work with.

Wow! I have a Martin D-35 that I love but it sounds like I need to check out some Eastmans. Thanks for the motivation. Kent

During this time of isolation, it's really surprised how many times I've picked up my e20-om. I have much more expensive guitars at my disposal, and I've been trying to show them some love too, but there is something really right with that guitar.

I've long said that the dreads are the meaty part of the Eastman starting lineup....

We all settle on a tone and feel that we like. Glad you’ve found yours at a discount.

I've had a few Eastmans and think they're fantastic. We truly live in a Golden Age of guitars.

I had a E20SS sunburst that was a really pretty guitar, but the tone was a bit thin for me, especially with it being a slope shouldered dread. Didn't have any trouble selling it though. Good thing all our ears are different, or we'd all be buying the same guitars.

The new Eastman's are surprisingly good. Even their lower price point models. I have an E2D Cedar/Sapele (all solid) that I don't know how they can sell street price for $509?

Yes I really enjoy both my Eastmans. The fairly recently acquired E15SS has become my favorite guitar. But I also love my Martin 000-15M, that’s going no where......... except from its case to my lap quiet frequently

I feel same way about my 10OM, however I would have said that "the OM's are the tofu-y part of the Eastman starting lineup...me being vegetarian.

It has a very open sound. There are overtones, but not an overwhelming amount of overtones. These qualities appeal to me. To be my absolute favorite one and only, it would have to have a cutaway, a 1 1/16th nut, and a little thinner neck. I don't want to get a custom Eastman, because I know that every guitar of the same model sounds a little different. There were 2 of these 10OM's in the store when I purchasd the one I have, and there was a slight, but noticeable difference in the sound.

I was playing my $279 Eastman PCH OM this morning and it's absolutely crazy to say but it's just as good my $5000-$10,000 guitars.

I have owned several Eastmans and they have all been really good. I recently sold an E10D and E6OM just because I didn't have room for all my guitars and their cases! I sort of wish I still had the dread as it was a great all-rounder. The E6om was a killer guitar, too, but it was pushed out the door by my Halcyon NL-00 when I needed the space for my resonator and Waterloo Jumbo King. I have been meaning to give the E20om another look, too, so Eastman may yet make its way back into the fold.

I used to own an Eastman way back when. I think they are great values and you can't go wrong with one.

I don't dislike their rosewood offerings but I do prefer their mahogany dreads a little more. Personal preference I guess?
