It all starts with a tree
I either fell one or find one already felled . In this case it was a Norway Spruce . I had hoped to have some top wood from a tree 1/2 block away , but there were pitch pockets and clear wood was scarce . What can I do with this ? Ah yes , solid bodies . Bookmatched quartersawn solid bodies . And so it began .
Since the felled tree had already been cut into a few sections , I was able to saw some wedges and dry them . Eventually , I had a number of billets to resaw into bookmatched pairs . And a few that had not yet been resawn . You know , I don't recall why I didn't resaw them , but is doesn't matter now . It's not the simplest way to have build wood , but I actually enjoy this . Currently gluing up paired billets . |

Look like some nice chunks of wood there.
