SOLD Custom Guitars - A complete guide.....PRICE DROP
I bought this when it was first published in 2000. It's a limited edition (300 copies) expensively printed slip-covered hardback. 151 pages, with over 200 color pictures of "some of the most beautiful and unusual guitars ever made". There's a chapter "Understanding Tonewoods" by Dana Bourgeois, and profiles of 200 custom guitar makers. It measures 9.375" by 12.375".
Here's a description I found online: "This beautiful book is a comprehensive guide to the new Golden Age of handcrafted acoustic guitars! Illustrated with full-color photos of custom instruments throughout, this rich resource also contains profiles of top luthiers, advice on buying a custom instrument, and an extensive directory with contact information for 200 makers. Encompassing steel-string flattops, nylon-strings, resonators and Hawaiians, archtops and more, Custom Guitars presents the history and current state of the art of guitar making. Includes an intro by Alex de Grassi" I've only looked through it a few times, so the pages are in perfect condition and the binding, covers and slipcover are structurally perfect. There is what book dealers call "shelf wear" - marks and scratches - on the slipcover and to a lesser degree on the covers of the book itself. I would call the structural and interior condition excellent plus, and the cosmetic condition good to very good. I researched the value online and found hardcover examples like mine to be priced at $90-134. I found a couple of paperback versions at $15-20, but most paperbacks are priced from $50-110. I'll sell this one for $75, NOW $60 shipped to any of the 50 states via USPS media mail. book1.JPG book2.JPG book3.JPG book4.JPG book5.JPG book6.JPG book7.JPG
