replaced the saddle with a mcnichols (ebay) unbleached bone saddle - excellent - left the urea nut on - i found the nut to be harder than tusq - it stays

Default Try originals first...

I really like my LL16 with the original nut and saddle! I actually fitted a bone nut, sized it, tweaked and fussed with it for several weeks, and then took it back out and put back the original.
I found that the bone gave the guitar a slightly fatter midrange, but the richness and depth of the bass and brightness of the highs was much superior with the original saddle.
It is particularly better with the original saddle when playing plugged in as well (Fishman Loudbox).
