Default String tension

Hello,
I've been using D'Addario J46, hard tension, tuned to A432. Compared to J45s, medium tension at A440, which one would put more tension on the guitar? Thank you!

String tension is proportional to the square of the frequency. So with the same set of strings moving from 432hz to 440hz would increase the tension by 3.7%

((440^2/432^2)-1)*100 = 3.7%

EJ46 have a "standard" tension of 40.8 kg, at 432 hz that would be 40.8/1.037 = 39.3 kg, EJ45 have a tension of of 39.65 kg. A longer or shorter scale will have a small effect but the relative tensions will be the same

So in short the 45's by a whisker but I doubt that you'd notice in practice.

I'm curious though; if you prefer the sound of 432 why are you asking about 440?
