I'm going to resurrect this thread being that I just bought a Froggy. Never worried about using Finger Ease on my old Epiphone, but would it be ok to use the stuff on the Froggy neck being that it has the abalone inlays?

When I first started playing I used Fast Fret, which seemed to be some sort of mineral oil in a stick type applicator.

When my fingertips started getting sore I'd put some on my strings. Doubt it did much except for placebo effec

Considering that this stuff is being absorbed into your body (through your fingers), it would be nice to see a list of ingredients on the packaging - and I don't see that with any of these products.

I think I'll try 100% lemon oil - I can't see that being harmful to my fretboard or to myself.

Default Just say "NO"

I'm still trying to get that stuff off my hands from the 60's.
Motor oil would have been less messy, and cheaper.

Don't you spray this on the strings/fretboard? Why is everyone referring to spraying it on the neck?

Note that lemon oil is generally made of mineral oil with lemon scent... no actual lemons are involved.

I am a bald guy with a shaved head.
I use the oils from my scalp. Just rub my finger tips on there and voila', no squeaks and nice smooth, easy to play strings. Keeps my callous from drying out as well. All natural and organic too.
Several of my friends have caught on and I only charge them $1.00/ application.

That's funny, I do the same thing(with my own nose) when playing upright bass. Love Ray Benson!

Thanks for this....so the stuff contains 30-60% naphtha, which some people suggest using anyway.

The instructions call for it to be sprayed a few inches above the fretboard.
