Default oh my lord! Richard Smith

Hi guys,

I was looking for an arrangment of Scott Joplin's The Easy Winners and I came across this:

It's like Chet playing ragtime to the nth degree. I play classic piano rags on guitar so this is a TKO for me.

Pretty amazing stuff, Doug!! He's quite the player. The transitions with those chords....no finger squeak.........fluid motions.....not really looking down at the fretboard a lot, total rhythm staying in place ........wow!!
Thanks for sharing this!!

He could at least make it LOOK hard to play! LOL!

I've been watching Richard for a couple of years and he's just amazing, but I had not seen this video - thanks for posting!

I've seen Richard live many times. Always amazing. I tell people that Richard Smith is the best guitar player on the planet, and people always ask "who? , never heard of him"

His "The Entertainer" is also a masterpiece, even Tommy Emmanuel bows to him at the end. Pineapple Rag https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de9HeUDqEeM is also one of my favorites. Especially when he tunes to drop D without hardly missing a beat.

Thanks for sharing this. So much goodness. His playing, his technique, and he’s a human metronome. Scott Joplin’s music is all wonderfully simple yet complex.

I think he must be an alien I had the pleasure of seeing him up close and personal @my favorite guitars former Florida location a couple of years ago. And a very humble guy, too. He's a treasure and deserves more recognition!
