Let me know when it's there, Ted, would love to try it!

If it is short scale it would have to be the N2.

Just think a thinner neck should be on a parlor.

I count 12 frets to the body, and I think the 12-fret neck is only available with the N2 profile (not to mention the truss rod cover).

Unless, of course, they're introducing a new neck along with the new body shape.

I agree 100%!!! Actually, IMHO, the Shorty should be available with the N1 neck as well.

Actually, it probably is the "NS" neck which was first used on the Shorty, not the "N2".

What is the profile of the NS, it isn't shown on their website.

NS profile is very similar (nearly identical) to the N2 profile. The primary difference is that the the mold of the NS only allows for a 12th fret neck to body connection and short scale, and the N2 only allows for a 14th fret neck to body connection and standard scale.

Actually when it comes to parlors most builders would disagree with you. A quick look at my parlor collection, past and present tells me most builders use the same or bigger necks on parlors than they do on their full size guitars. When I see a small guitar with a small neck I think travel guitar not parlor.

Having said that, I would love to see an N1 Shorty option if for no other reason than to stop Ed from kvetching about it, but considering how popular the feel of the N2 neck is my guess is most folks would continue to order their Shorty with the current NS neck.

Ted I not talking small neck just Taylor slim not Gibson full. Bulking up a neck on a parlor makes no logical sense to me. I think a major element of the N2s popularity is most people want the truss rod and have no choice. Put a truss rod in the N1 and you will see how popular the N2 is. I own a N2 and pay it often, it is fine but I think a little too thick a profile. On my JM 1000 it reminds me of the old Gibsons J200 which is cool. On a parlor? Well? Curious what the average depth of your parlors are?
