Default Tiny Desk Concerts

Oh man! Been spending most of the evening listening to (and watching) NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts. So far The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jackson Browne, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and right now Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. A bunch more later.

Yeeeaaahhh buddy!

So many good Tiny Desk Concerts out there. Wilco, Cranberries, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, etc... are all good.

I first heard Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on that program and was blown away by their sensitive and present renditions of a small selection of their songs. Unfortunately that concert can no longer be found in the archives.

It’s a good place to check for new talent too. Great program.

Hey Phil,

Here's one I think you'll like. I always enjoyed the story the host tells at the introduction. It's a poignant reminder of how much the music of 'our time' meant to us growing up in the 60's and 70's.

The Lyle Lovett, Cat Stevens, and the 'World's Tallest Man' tiny desk concerts are particularly good.

Very good tip will check them out
Also available via Youtube two more great series are the "Transatlantic Sessions" with American and European artists playing together.

https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...ntic+sessions+

This one was how I found the Transatlantic series and this song is now a permanent part of my set list

And one that really explores the depth of American music 'Music Fog"

Relly like this group

Yes.

If Khraungbin has a greatest hits. August 10 starts 3:17.

A good audience or rest of the room shot in this one. I'm glad I saw them up close and personal before his retirement tour. I have video of my coworkers dancing with them on stage. Happy Monday. What more can I say. Go move and groove.

I would have never been able to experience that without the aid of Tiny Desk!

It's actually a desk in an open plan office. Here's a behind the scenes 360 degree video.

You've completely ruined it for me.

Just kidding, that was cool to see the whole thing.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit invite one of the NPR staff members up to sit in on guitar on one song. Jason said he always wanted to be invited on stage when he would watch a band and say to himself, "I could play that".

Tiny Desk Concerts are a treasure!
