Default Some free "noise reduction" software

hi, don't you know about any good free noise reduction software for download. i record in ProTools Essential but it doesn't include any nor can it accept any plug-in. my preamp is quite poor and the mic is noisy so the output is with a lot of noise after turning the volume up to a "normal" volume
thanks

Try Wavepad

http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html

There is a free version available. The link is kind of hidden on the page. It has built in noise reduction that works great. Just leave a few seconds of space on your recording where you can grab a sample of the noise you are trying to eliminate and use the version of the noise reduction that works from the sample (hope that makes sense). This is the only free one that I have found that eliminates the noise without affecting the audio quality (or at least very much).
