That looks great! Seeing the detail of how it’s done really makes you appreciate the result all the more. Great skill for an excellent result.
Couldn’t agree more on how well it compliments the rosette!

Hahaha (as Tom would say). Thanks for confining your thoughts to grawlix!
Yes, I knew when the decision was taken to document the bevel sequence that it would get ugly before it got better. Leaving you hanging over the weekend was a risky move, but hey--Steve was in Argentina....

McJam was a load of fun. Everyone says hi.

Curious, haven’t seen the Indonesian RW OM. Is it finished yet?

Almost. The Indo body came back the same day as the other walnut body seen upstream. Only I marred one piece of the neck finish, so it went back into the spray booth for another week or so. The tuners arrived from Italy this month, so it won't be long now.

Beautiful work, Steve. I'm a big fan of walnut and your guitars in general. Whoever gets this one is one lucky player.

A wee update, overdue I admit.
Back at post 103 this head plate shot was shown:

IMG_2125.jpg

But we have since purfled (yes, that IS a word) with a fine b/w line, and then bound the head with more Kiaat:

Ok, let me try again, as the pic did not post...

There we go ^ Steve's Kiaat-bound, Koa-topped head!

Sorry for the problem,

Bridge work! Steve and I have had an ongoing discussion about the bridge for his guitar. Discussion ranged from mechanics to aesthetics, and of course wood selection entered in. So far, the front-runner is Ebony. Here are a few pics of the bridge being built:

IMG_2220.jpg

In that pic ^ a few steps are already completed: the blank is thinned, shape is cut, pin holes drilled and saddle slot routed. Next...

IMG_2221.jpg

...next ^ the wings have been scooped. Then...

IMG_2223.jpg

...then ^ the back is relieved (rounded) with rasps and files.
Lastly, after sanding smooth and polishing, we have:

A finished bridge! Thanks for watching,

Steve
