thanks tony, you are the first to respond which lets me know that there is not much love for lap steels!

there are tons of instruction thru youtube as well as dvds.

here is tony brenningmeyer from you tube.

also a google search of lap steel lessons.k

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...teel%20lessons

and, here is the steel guitar forum that has a wealth of info but does cost $5 to join if you wish to post any questions. there are a lot of very helpful people there.

You know, I could have sworn I responded to this when it first was posted. Perhaps I hit the wrong key. Sorry about that. I love the character your guitar and amp have! I've heard that the Princeton is favored over the Deluxe by some lap steel players. What do you think of it?

bob: i did show the amp within the electric guitar subforum. that's where you saw it.

i have a 66 deluxe reverb and i have a/bd the two with the lap steel. the deluxe, with its 12" speaker and 22 watts does have a much larger sound but the princeton, with only an 8" speaker sounds real sweet. a lot of pedal and lap steel people love 15" speakers in their amps for an even larger sound. i have an altec lansing 416 15" in a cabinet that i'll have to have my nephew help bring it in so i can try it with a couple of different amps. possibly a showman or an orange or80, both monster amps.

Love that old National! Looks like it's made of walnut - or some other nice wood.

Here's a couple of my old lap steels from the 30's and a '51 Fender amp. I was working on the guitar on the right - that's why it has no strings.
