Default Larrivee 000 40 On it’s way.....

I’ve lost my mind and spent money I shouldn’t have. Been wanting a 12 fret,1 3/4 nut, 2 1/4 spacing at saddle. I found a deal on the sitka/hog model open box supposedly mint. Also, still has factory warranty. If anyone wants to share their experiences with these, maybe that will hold me over until it arrives. I’m sure I’ll be set for life with this and my Breedlove

Congrats, I’m sure you’re gonna be very happy with it.
Larrivee makes great guitars.

Remember my words:
YOU are going to LOVE the 40 series. Bigger Bass & more projection.
I have two guitars in 40 series. I will be surprised if you don't do cartwheels upon your first strum(unless of course the strings are dead).
Hmmm? I guess you can kind of tell that I like Larrivee 40 series...LOL.
Very curious about the 000 size. Never have played a Larrivee in this size. Played an OM-40-- clear projecting notes. If I read the specks correctly, The 000 might have a 1/2 deeper body than OM, besides the slight shape difference.

Thanks. Yeah body dimensions are almost identical to my Breedlove concert which I love. Looking forward to having a 12 fret in this size. Also I think the neck it’s slightly bigger than the Breedlove which is good.

You did good.

Larrivee makes an amazing guitar. I think they do wonders with Sitka and mahogany, and the 40 takes the bass and dials it up a bit. That, in a 12 fret, is going to be fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing what you think once you have it in hand!

Last night I was playing my J-15 in the living room and thinking, "I sure do love how this guitar sounds." At the end of my noodling, as it was getting to be time for bed, I did some fingerstyle playing. Mmmm... so warm and sweet. Sounded beautiful.

I put the Gibson away and then decided to get out my wife's Martin
000-18 to noodle a bit, finger style like I was just doing with the J-15. Wow. Also beautiful, but so different. Much more high end to the sound. I guess you could say it was more sparkly(?), but in a good way. Very nice.

Then I felt guilty about not having played my Larrivee OM-40 that day, so I went and got it. Played some similar finger style on it. Whoa. A sound so deep it felt like I could dive into it. Not as much high end as the Martin, not as sweet as the Gibson, but balanced, with what I can only think to describe as a depth that was enveloping me. Absolutely gorgeous.

I predict that you will love your 40 series, Lillis. Larrivee really came up with something special with these.

Nice to read all the enthusiasm here for the 40 series. I noticed on the Larrivee website there is also a 00-40R available - 12 frets to the body & 25.5” scale (!) Not easy to find this combination of specs outside of a specialty build. I’ll have to make that trip to Vancouver ...

Been slowly saving $ for an OM-40R. I should hopefully have one by around April of 2020.
Patiently waiting.....

I had the SD-40 for a while. I loved it. Had to let it go because of the loudness and my tinnitus. But, oh my, what a guitar!

Now you guys really have me Anxious to get this. I chose it based on reputation and configuration and value. Oddly enough when I lived in Indianapolis I lived less than a mile from the Larrivee dealer, that was before I had any experience at all. From everything I gather these are great guitars regardless of price. I feel pretty confident in ordering one without playing it.

I’ve owned 3, and bought all three sight unseen. All have been fantastic guitars. I think you’re gonna be pretty happy.
