Fishman Sa330x
Hi there, everybody!
I have started to play in a few restaurants and pubs in my city, but I am using a heavy setup for someone with cubital tunnel syndrome on the left hand: Martin HD28, QSC K10.2, QSC Touchmix 8, a backpack with a lot of cables and the stands for microphone and for the PA system. I am trying to reduce the weight, and get me a smaller setup. So I was looking at the Fishman SA330x, and maybe it would be great, because I could even get rid of the Touchmix, since the SA330x have phantom power for my vocal condenser microphone and acceptable eq capabilities. Have you ever used the SA330x? Do you guys think it would work in a small pub (with people talking)? And do you guys have another idea of a small (really small, like the SA330x) PA with basic reverbs and Eq? Thank you very much!

It would probably work great--regarding small pubs, how small is small?
The SA330x has received lots of praise here from most of the comparatively fewer forum members who use it. For your situation it could be perfect, especially if you feel you can do without the sub it can be connected to--and many do. Extra help comes from the wheeled carry case you can get for it, though I don't know how many stairs you have to handle etc. Link is to Sweetwater in the US, I don't know what's available in Brazil. Second link is to a superb in-depth review. Have to run but will try to post more later. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...luxe-carry-bag https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHq6J7W8cJY |

Great system! I had the SA220
Still 27 Lbs. to lift up to pole. Nothing beats the Bose S1 pro at 15 Lbs. Save your hand. Bose is the perfect volume for venues you describe pups/restaurants. Plus you get battery & bluetooth. |

For 2 extra pounds you get a lot more features and better bottom end from a JBL Eon One Compact, so don’t count that out. |

Thank you for all the answers!
For now, I will probably go with the JBL Compact. It's lighter than the Fishman, and it can provide me Phantom Power (for my microphone). That's insane! The Bose portable don't have the Phantom Power, so that's a "no" for me. And it have a battery, too! I can finally do my weddings playing at the beach without worry about where the heck would I plug my stuff! The only thing left to know is the sound... is it too quiet? I would probably play at restaurants, pubs and weddings... where are a few people drinking and talking... I'm afraid that I would not be heard. Nothing too crazy... but maybe 80-100 people talking.

100 people JBL vs Fishman? Get the Fishman SA330x which is set up “mini line array” with 330watts/113db SPL at one meter away, future proof with the ability to buy the subwoofer and 6 channel expander later on.
Still though, 100 loud people... I’d feel most confident going a different route with 2x of any of the various QSC 8” speakers. The CP8’s are 25lbs and only $399 a piece w/ free heavy duty gig bag on sweetwater right now. They punch! |

JBL Compact designed for max 50 people. Just keep your K10.2 for those medium size gigs up to 75 people. The Compact has a line out to connect another powered speaker. I agree with jpino, love my QSC CP8, and I only have one, but you are back to needing a mixer, poles/cables. Fishman might be the way to go, not sure it can handle 100 people? Have you looked at EV 30? I think the bass cabinet is starting to get up in weight.
