Default Something for our Canadian friends to be thankful for...

Happy Gordon Lightfoot Day!

A tip of the hat and a grateful bow to one of my all-time favorite singer-songwriters. Sit Down Young Stranger and Don Quixote were albums that held the road songs of my youth, and pretty much all of his repertoire conjures up great memories.
Thanks, GL.

Yes, he certainly has accomplished an amazing musical career, been a long time fan and miss those concerts at Massey Hall, hmm kinda making me a bit homesick.

Thankful I got to see him a couple of times in his prime....once at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater and another in Saginaw - both were late 80's.

I was introduced to him briefly by the Warner Brothers record rep at the Saginaw show.

His first 10-12 albums are ingrained in my memory.

Well deserved honor for him.

Here's a pic I got at the Saginaw show, when he came out to the edge of the stage with a single mic and did 3-4 solo tunes.

A great musician. He was my hero as a teenager, and I've come to appreciate him even more as an adult. The very first album I ever bought was "Did She Mention my Name" Included Black Day in July, Pussywillows Cattails, Wherefore and Why etc. I still have it. Played it yesterday.

My all time favourite singer. Saw him in concert a few times and have played a number of his tunes live too. Still love his music 50 years on. Happy Gord day indeed!

Congratulations! Long time coming.
I'm glad I was fortunate to see him in concert.
So many great songs.

Gordon played Massey Hall in Toronto last night. He was the last to perform at Massey Hall in 2018 before major renovations and he's the first since it reopened. It was the 170th time he's played Massey Hall, which is an iconic Canadian venue.

I have only been at a concert at Massey Hall twice. Once for a Jackson Browne show, and once for Gordon. Hearing Gordon fill that amazing acoustic environment was incredible.

I've never been to Massey Hall before but I'm sure it's an amazing venue. Great Big Sea would have been an awesome band to see there.
