Default Any Acoustic Guitar Concert DVD's?

Hey

I was just wondering, are there any good acoustic guitar concerts or performances on DVD that are available? I'd like to ask my parents for a few DVD's for xmas, and I love watching acoustic performances. I wish they had a Dave Matthews Live with Tim Renoylds on DVD, I really love the Luther College CD.

Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.

Jim Croce, Phil Keaggy, Doyle Dykes and Tommy Emmanuel all have great DVDs.

Bon Jovi
Acoustic Alchemy
David Gilmour
Hall and Oates - the "unplugged" portion has got a lot of Taylors in it.

I believe that there will be a Dave and Tim solo release coming out withing a short time. It isn't Live at Luther, but I think it will be from their tour two years back.

Should be amazing

My favorite all-acoustic DVD concerts are David Gilmour (Live in Concert) and Neil Young (Silver and Gold). There is also enough acoustic guitar in "Concert for George" to qualify in my book.

If I were picking one of the three, I'd get Silver & Gold. It's just Neil, a circle of acoustic guitars, a harmonica, a mic, and a chair. I think he maybe plays one or two songs on an old pipe organ with a harmonica. But, no accompanyment.

Oh, oh, YES!! LJ has two new instructional video's out, "The Guitarist" anthology. The books are absurdly awesome, and there is also a DVD that you can get with each. For every song, LJ first plays completely through it at speed, and then he walks you through piece by piece. INcredible to watch, and if you have the book it would be highly valuable.

if i had to bet (and i'm not much of a better man....unless i'm drunk in vegas....but that's another story.... ), i'd say we'll never see that purdue video. i was at the show, and dave f'd up bigtime on a few of the songs (i remember cry freedom being especially botched). he also seemed kinda nervous with the camera people hovering around him all night -- maybe too intimate a setting for the cameras to be all over him?

he made some hilarious comments making fun of the camera people though....if they ever put that dvd out (and certainly i hope they do even though my opinion is that they wont), hopefully they wont edit those comments out

Steve Goodman - Live from Austin City Limits and More. It's mostly just Steve and his guitar, and it's great stuff.

Ohhhhhh, man. That just went on my Christmas list.

Another recommendation: John Prine, Live at the Sessions on 54th. That one was ALREADY on my Christmas list.

Tommy Emmanuel at Sheldon Hall is wonderful. I found myself applauding the TV.
