Default Rick Franklin & Tom Mindte, just curious about the mandolin

Never seen one like it and couldn't find anything else on line other than the one photo. Almost a bit 'arch top?

Not sure what you are referring to. Do you mean the tenor resonator in the photo?

Tom Mindte is best known as a mandolin player (and producer/label owner, Patuxent Music, check 'em out for traditional bluegrass, blues, jazz). I didn't know he played tenor (but I'm sure he could).

Guitar on the record cover could be a 1930s National Triolian?

The instrument in the photo is a National resonator tenor guitar, not a mandolin.

Thank you all some much. This is what I get 'hearing mandolin like on his picking, and not even noticing its four strings silly.
Thanks all.
