Default Farewell To Whisky/Coleman’s March

This is a medley of two of the saddest stories I know of.

Coleman’s March was written in 1847 by Fiddlin’ Joe Coleman who was sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of his mother-in-law. The story can be found here: https://nativeground.com/the-hanging...n-joe-coleman/

Farewell to Whisky was written in 1799 by Scottish fiddler Neil Gow. A failure of the Barley crop led to the Scots being prohibited from “wasting” barley to make Scotch whisky.

The guitar is a 1987 Martin/Schoenberg Soloist tuned to DADGAD and capoed on the second fret.

Really nice playing. Went to see what else you have on your YouTube site and watched another 1/2 dozen of your postings. Great picking. Made my evening as we sit by the fire. Thanks.

Jeff

Really enjoyed watching this Bill. Lovely relaxed playing and you get a really sweet sound from that guitar. I took a look at your other videos as well - nice channel

Hi Bill,
As always, great guitar playing.
I love listening to your tunes.
You can make your guitars really sing, and on this one, I can feel the sadness.
You the man!
Thanks for sharing.
Rene
