"If I could sing like Paul McCartney, get funky like Etta James..." (Name the song).
I'll go along with the OP. There may be a handful of rock, rock n' roll singers as good as Burton Cummings. But I can't think of anyone better. |

Kind of bizarre choices, but I would go for Bing Crosby or Chris Stapleton...or better yet Bing's timing and intonation and Chris's grit.

Yes - have seen him playing with them. Pretty good gig!

I agree - I was a huge fan back in the day. And a little later - Myles Goodwyn did pretty well too!

I like a lot of the previously mentioned voices , but #1 for me would be Noel Paul.Stookey.

I did my first “public performance” 62 years ago in church when I was 5. I like my voice though my upper range is not as high as it was years ago.
Having said that I really enjoy Jackson Browne’s tone and vocal range. Easy switch.

Not that I’m all that unhappy with my vocals, but I wouldn’t mind having a set of pipes like Brad Delp had.

No question for me: Marvin Gaye. He could sing rough, he could sing smooth, and he could harmonize beautifully with female singers, something that a lot of guys have trouble with.

Mine would be way off the beaten path of perfection, I like his unique style of singing and his voice. Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root and now his current band Uprooted. Many only know "send me on my way" but I love so much of the album "when I woke" and a lot of his live album cuts are better than studio cuts. And/or Stephen Stills
