Decided to drop the nylon string idea and go with a custom build Brook Lyn from the boys over in Devon. 12 fret, Sitka over figured mahogany with koa binding - should be a looker but I'll have to wait 7 months for them to build it.

Thanks, Phil! I sent Simon an email today with my list of 'wants' so he can give me a final price. Decided to not have a cutaway and put the money towards prettier wood. Will have the cat's eyes and diamond like yours and a snowflake at the 5th fret. I think the koa binding will be really nice if they don't want a big upcharge for it - otherwise curly maple. Will keep you posted,
