I don't think that there's a chair or couch in the house that I haven't used, quite satisfactorily, as a "guitar chair"...

Ha! You must have nicer furniture than I do! We’re holding off on upgrading ours since we’re moving soon...

If the man wants a chair, he wants a chair,...

I like the look of the OP's Gator chair. Looks very adjustable. I bought an On-Stage DT8500 Guitar/Keyboard Throne but had to take it to a welder to reposition the foot rest. Had it for years, use it daily at the house to practice or record acoustic and take it for sit down gigs.

I'm not so sure about hanging an acoustic off it, but for something w/ adjustable seat, backrest and footrest that's foldable for storage, could be a nice unit.

Go for it, let us know,..

This. You might even be able to afford two of them and then your picking friend can join you comfortably.

My wife found and artisan made stool just the height I need
to get my feet flat on the ground.
I use a large secretarial foot step so that I can elevate right
or left hip depending on whether I play folk or classical guitar.

I really like a stool. Also like a chair. This kind of looks like it could be a fit for me. I've not tried one though. It seems rather adjustable as well. And the price is not too terrible. It looks a lot like what you're looking at. Maybe an option for you

I'm about to pull the trigger on this Gator Frameworks "Deluxe" guitar chair, but before I do that I'd like to hear your recommendations.

I'd like a footrest, some adjustability (I'm 6'3", so "one-size-fits-all" usually doesn't), and something that's either not too bulky or can be folded and leaned on the wall in a corner of our living room. Also hoping to spend less than $150. We've got (not-so-hard) wood floors in the living room, so rolling chairs aren't a good fit.

What do you sit on?

Thanks!

I had one of these chairs.

Don't do it.

That back rest just doesn't set back far enough to be of much use.

I would get an office chair that has "Flip up Arms"
like this

I've used one of these too
https://www.amazon.com/mysuntown-Erg...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

then get these to replace the crappy casters all these chairs come with

I usually play on the couch or a basic armless chair. I was at GC this weekend and they have a few old high back velour upholstered dining room chairs. It was quite comfortable and offered far more back support than my usual seating spots. Of course after about 10 minutes I was hunching over the guitar anyway and not benefiting from the highback. But I like the idea, and may just go visit some local consignment shops or look for scratch n dents / one-offs in furniture stores.

https://rocnsoc.com/

I got one of these and like it. Use a standard foot rest with it, a separate item.

I cart it along to gigs. Fairly portable. I got the back too but haven't been using it.

Comfortable for typical 3 hr gig and practice.

It looks like the height of the foot rest is adjustable, but it might be better to get an adjustable footrest. With one foot on it and one on the floor you might feel more stable than having your foot on that rung.
