SOLD. Selling One Of My Personal Santa Cruz 00-Skye Model Guitars
Hey AGF friends,
Eric here, and I’m selling one my own personal signature model guitars from the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. This one is a custom variation, that is basically an 18-style, compared to the original recipe which I think of as more of a 28-style guitar. I’m linking a rather long-winded unlisted Youtube video just below here where I go into great detail about the guitar and play a few things as well. And yes, I do now realize after the fact that I cut my head off in the talking head parts of the video -still working on my video production skills https://youtu.be/yJB7eaSwKl8 In a nut shell, the key differences from the standard 00-Skye model are: 1) Old growth mahogany backs and sides instead of cocobolo 2) Mahogany binding instead of Ivoroid, and 18-style purfle replaces the herringbone 3) Brazilian peghead overlay instead of cocobolo 4) The nut and bridge spacing are 1-3/4 and 2-5/16 respectively, instead of 1 13/16 and 2 1/4 All other 00-Skye model specs can be found here https://santacruzguitar.com/ooskye It’s a gorgeous looking, sounding, playing, and even smelling guitar that is dead mint/as new. I’m embarrassed to say I really haven’t played it almost at all. I love it, and can’t stop looking at it.. But I frankly I need the money right now. And as some may know, I really only play one guitar. I have another as backup and for air travel.. But honestly having more guitars in the house is too much form my tiny ADD brain, I prefer just one. The woods on this guitar are just beyond. Richard and I are old friends, and I don’t want to say there was any special treatment here or anything, but he clearly seems to have dug very deep into the stash for this stuff. I feel a little guilty, but he does know I’m selling it. *As I post this I'm seeing the photos look a little low rez, could be my web host.. I'll looking into that. If anyone wants larger high-res photos, or has any other questions at all, my email is [email protected] Last edited by min7b5; 03-23-2024 at 06:35 PM. |

wow, Eric, this is a special opportunity... If it were the standard 1-13/16" nut width spec (and I had another say 6k lying around), I'd be flying this one home
Good luck with this sale! Ian

Spectacular sound!!
Eric, you may have cut off your head, but your guitar sounds spectacular! My goodness it sounds really really good…
Of course, I am aware that you can probably make a cardboard ukulele sound pretty darn good. But not like this! Best on your sale and be well, Paul

I can't help but fanboy. Eric, A Different Kind of Blue is my favorite acoustic album, ever. Wow. Thank you for being willing to take on that amazing project.
I played a cocobolo SCGC Skye 00-12 at a shop and was totally blown away. I'm a hobbyist and, inspired, I've been playing a very nice 00-12 as my only acoustic for the past four years and it truly does all the things. Good luck on the sale. I controlled myself and waited a day before posting this. I can't believe the AGF has let this one sit even this long. If you don't know the joy of a well-made 00-12, there's always room for one more in the club. Sent from my SM-S901U using Acoustic Guitar Forum mobile app

congrats on the sale and thank you for sharing your awesome playing in the video. I'm feeling a bit less defensive about anchoring my pinky (it seems to have a mind of it's own at times !)

I feel incredibly fortunate to be purchasing this guitar from Eric! I can't wait to play it. Now I have a 2021 standard 00-Skye that I need to sell -- excellent to near mint. I'll post an ad soon, but feel free to contact me if you are interested. Thinking $6700.
