Default Fret Crowning

Hi Guys.

I have a guitar with fret width @ 2.75mm.

I have a crowning file @ 2.5mm.

My question: Is the 2.5mm the correct one to use or do I have to use a 3.00mm??

Thanks

Brian

The 3.0 would be better but you can probably get away with it. They don't seem to be THAT accurate that it matters, but it might. You will just have to try. As an example of what I mean, I have the Stew Mac "Offset Diamond Fret File " which is two sided, medium and wide for each fret type. I can never tell which side is which by looking at it and in fact cannot tell which side is which even when using it.
