Default NGD-Well-Almost

My Larrivee OM-03R Vine Special (2021 Used) arrived on Wednesday. After a look at the crushed box and some torn holes in it-all pointed out by the UPS delivery person (thanks to him), and peeking in one of the holes to see damage to the case. So.........needless to say I refused delivery and it is on its way back to the dealer. One of the issues is that I traded to guitars for it (my main players) so don't have much to play right now, which I hope is temporary and that was the only OM-03R they had, so if there's damage to the guitar itself, I'm out of luck as to that model. I'm hoping only the case was damaged - if so they'll put it in a new case and ship it out again. I've bought a lot of stringed instruments remotely and this is the first time this has happened. Thanks for reading needed to get it off my chest so to speak. Ack!

Bummer. That had to be tough turning it away. You did the right thing though. Hope it works out that it's just the case.

Hopefully the guitar is OK, that should be a stellar Larivee.
Good Luck !

Couldn't you have just inspected the guitar yourself, and if all was good, had the shop send a new case and you send the damaged one back?

Yes, that was an option. However, the UPS driver advised that then photos need to be taken and it is possible that if there was damage, it is "a prove it was UPS's fault" which can be very problematic. Better to refuse delivery IMHO.

That had to be hard to do, but probably the best approach. Hope your replacement shows up fast, and in better shape.

That sucks. Hopefully the guitar is able to be shipped to you again.

I'm not familiar with the "Vine Special" so I googled it. Beautiful guitar and headstock.

Update-the guitar arrived back at the dealer today. No damage to it - only the case. They put it in a new case and shipped it back to me 2 day air. Fingers crossed there's no more issues! Thanks JR at Dave's Guitars!

Final update by me. The guitar arrived (again) yesterday in excellent condition. Plays and sounds better than my expectations which is always great. Very pleased with the outcome, even if it was a less than pleasant "journey'. I know I'm expected to show photos but don't know how to post them. I looks like any of the Larrivee OM-03R Vine Specials you would see on line anyway,

What a great ending! A hassle yes but it was resolved rather quickly. Congrats and enjoy!
