Unfortunately I can't, no cash at them moment, even trying to sell my new classical because I have to have oral surgery.

So if the turning and the phase shifter works, then I'll stick with that until I can get some extra cash to nab one.

These latest tracks were ok, phase-wise,without the phase shifter. I wouldn't bother with that, shouldn't be needed.

Joe,

How are you making the mp3 files? I ask because iTunes, for example, has several settings that one can choose when ripping wav to mp3 files. The "enhancement" mode applies a lot of phasey stuff that is definitely NOT enhancement.

I'm using Sony Soundforge 10

I just do a "Save As" choose "mp3" set the bit rate, I choose the highest quality, and then that's it.

This is the latest attempt:

I didn't do any phase shifting or anything, just added some reverb/compression/white noise reduction.

I do like this version, so for me, this one is a keeper.

FYI,

reverbs ARE phase-based processors.

Right, but the big phase issues in Joe original posts were in his raw files, which don't appear to have any reverb on them

Submitted for your approval LOL

Used less compression, but a little more limiting. Increased overall volume to start, also decreased the mids a bit as I thought it was giving me a weird sensation in my Right ear. It's not so much there anymore.

there's about a 2.5 second reverb ring on this.

what's the space like in which you are recording?

It's in the upstairs of a cape cod house of the fairly large room. It's the only place I have a record though.

There is reverb on this file. So it's not just the pure audio.

I think it's got way too much on the top end. Here's the same file with the peaks knocked down a bit (compression) and a heavy EQ cut.

Something along those lines - either that or my monitoring chain is so bad I can't hear what I'm doing.

But you just said, "Used less compression, but a little more limiting. Increased overall volume to start, also decreased the mids a bit as I thought it was giving me a weird sensation in my Right ear. It's not so much there anymore."

and then, oh, yeah and some reverb.

good night.

Okay, so maybe a little more compression and less limiting...I know the limiting adds more to the top end.

Thanks for looking at the EQ....sounds good on my end.

Yeah, but that sensation wasn't caused by the reverb, that was there before I added the reverb.

The biggest problem I have is getting this to a level where you can listen on a Car Radio and not have to crank the volume to even hear it. LOL.
