Thanks for the DAW link Cindy.

I'm following this thread because I am new to learning how to get decent recordings. The info from your class was very helpful and I, for one, would like to hear any further tips from your classes, if you find the time to post them.

Bill, I've been posting the info over on the Learn & Master Guitar Forum. There are a lot of people there who are WAY more knowledgeable than I about recording so I appreciate hearing their feedback/thoughts about what I'm learning. I'll be keeping it updated until the class ends in mid-April.

Newb here,

Great forum! Just found it, and I've been lurking around.

I use a Blue Microphones "Yeti" along with free audio software by Kristal (see link). Works great for amateur recording. I use it to record myself practicing. I think I paid $99 for the mic. Very clean sound from the mic. The software is easy to learn and use, and will record several tracks so you can edit in singing or other instruments.
