Default NGD Yesterday D-41

So I went down to Fullers yesterday, convinced I was going to get a 1952 J-185 Reissue or a 1960 Fixed Bridge Hummingbird, both Custom Shop Gibsons. When I got there I pulled down a D-41 as a comparison since they are all roughly the same price. I loved the sound of the Gibson Custom Shops, but did not dig the new interpretation of the VOS finish, which is very rough and not what I wanted. So I focused on the D-41 and quickly decided that it needed to come home with me.

Apologize for the poor quality pics. I was trying to get a quick shot to send my wife. The new D-41 is alongside a J-45 Koa Custom Shop I got 6 weeks ago. These two new ones will round out my acoustic rack - hopefully…..

That's a heck of a nice pair of guitars! Congrats. I'm sure they compliment each other well.

Great looking instruments. And I'm certain that they sound super-duper, indeed.

Wow, that’s a real beauty. And with a guitar like that, 10 years from now you might be even happier with it.

I went with my gigging partner 7 years ago to trade in his D-28 for a D-41.

He gigs it 8 times a month. Hard. It has the hours on it like a 25 year old guitar from the rest of us. And it’s got dings. But my lord, what a sound. Full bloom.

Mike’s D-41 is second from the right… my buddy Joe owns the 000-28 (used to be mine) and the HD-35.

Yours will only get better with time. Great choice.
