Theoretically the 650C (Colorado) is still in production, although I can't remember the last time I saw a new one for sale.

The fretboard, at 1 3/4" nut width does indeed address the space issue. It's well-proportioned, with good string spacing, and no danger of falling off the edge of the fretboard.

Not everyone is aware of this, but there are other Rickenbacker models with the 1 3/4" nut - the 660s (6 and 12-string) and 1993+ (12-string) both have it, as did the now-discontinued 380.
