Default 'A Day at the Seaside' by John Renbourn

'A Day at the Seaside' by John Renbourn, taken from the 1972 book 'Guitar Pieces by John Renbourn'.

Played on a size 2 parlour made by Ralph Bown.

I hope you enjoy it.

Jonny

This has always been one of my favourite Renbourn tunes. I can remember after I first heard this on "Another Monday", I spent years (lilterally) trying to figure out how to play it, to no avail! I eventually got Renbourn's book that had the music. Great stuff.

A favourite of mine too; been trying to get it down for 30 years! I saw the great man in concert a handful of times over the years, and at a weekend workshop in 1982. This one didn't appear in his set list on those occasions unfortunately, but it's one of the few tunes that I've stuck with over the years, and I love your rendition, Jonny. Fantastic!

Dang Jonny!

That sounds awesome! Lovely to hear this played so well! I have listened to that John Renbourn album so much I have every one of the songs on it memorized. I recognized it instantly!

Well done!

- Glenn

Thanks Mike - I've loved it since I first heard it on vinyl and didn't realise I had the score until recently. It's a lot of fun to play.

Cheers. I only saw him live once, just before he died and he played mostly blues, jamming with Wizz Jones. The speed of the piece is a challenge, but also some of the LH fingering is awkward.
