Default GASing over a Furch Orange RS SR Dread

Ok folks ... I am without a dread right now and have serious GAS over a Furch Orange series in a gorgeous sunburst top. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they worth the $2400 price tag for a new one? Let me benefit from the collective experience of the AGF.

I think they are. I'm going to pull the trigger on a Yellow GA sometime soon.

I do believe there is a used one floating around the Forum classifieds for under 2 grand.
But $2400 for a new Orange is not a bad price.

Edit
The Furch listed in the Classifieds is a Walnut back and sides and is not sloped.

I've had the pleasure of playing a number of Furch guitars. All are great build quality and are lightly braced, (they use alpine for the bracing), so they ring out. The tops are radiused so harmonics ring out. They are already quite balanced guitars compared to something like a Martin.

The RS in particular is absolutely incredible. The SR you described will be a killer guitar. In many ways, it will sound like a Grand Auditorium with more bass, or perhaps like me your ear likes the Taylor sound, but I could never find one that was what my ear wanted.

In short, this guitar will be better than the Taylor 717, and a good $500 bucks cheaper.

Is that with the dual bevel? That's going to be great!!

As far as a Furch dread, I own a Yellow. I find the neck a tad more difficult to play than a Taylor. Perhaps it is 1/16th wider, or perhaps a slightly flatter neck radius...not sure. It's not difficult, just more so than the Taylor (814 or similar). Mine is a cutaway and it has a Cedar top. Not sure where you intend to play or the kind of music you play, but in an a/b against a spruce top, the Cedar had a richness that I couldn't pass up. It isn't clear, handles all but the most aggressive strumming, so if you can road test a Cedar version, I'd suggest you do so. It looks beautiful, too.

Not sure where you're buying it, but Bill at the Fretted Buffalo took good care of me. Good luck!

Hey thanks for all the input and yes I’m talking to Bill up in Buffalo. We both hail from the same hometown up there so we might be getting sidetracked swapping war stories lol

Most Furches have a 16" radius fretboard. I own a LTD and a Rainbow series 12 string that are absolutely fabulous. The 12 is African Blackwood, not a jangly guitar at all. More dark and lush if that makes sense
