I ordered a Polytune from amazon in 2016 and just realized I have the same battery in mine that’s pretty impressive. I also ordered a unitune to throw in another guitar case recently that I love just as much. I find them to be nearly as accurate as the Peterson strobe iPhone app so I’ve always been happy with mine. I also leave the silly factory wrapping on the screen of mine so they look new but I do that with everything and my wife makes fun of me constantly. Either way, fantastic tuner that I would highly recommend.

D is a harmonic of G.

If you register your product, they offer an extended warranty 1 - 3 years I believe.

I reported a cracked case, and they are shipping me a replacement tuner at no cost. Awesome support.
Thanks for the tip but it was my own stupid fault it cracked. TC Electronics shouldn't have to cover that.

Why not try anyway? Just tell them the truth. If they choose to replace it then great!
Some companies like to see how their products fail. Just a thought.

You know, it had never occurred to me to try attaching any of my PolyTune or UniTune tuners so that the display is underneath the headstock rather than above it, but I was practicing guitar earlier this afternoon, remembered your post, and gave it a try.

What a great suggestion! That’s not only a very practical way to make use of these tuners, it also minimizes the uglification of the headstock by these monolithic gizmos...

So good call, Dryfly - I’m going to be following the official “Dryfly Tuner Placement Protocol” from now on.

Thanks again.

That's the way I've always done it.

I have the polytune, although I only use it one string at a time. I think it's a little more accurate than my Snark.

How do you determine that one tuner is better than another? I've used 3 or 4 models, they all work rather well...but even with the more expensive ones, I have to do some tweaking manually "by ear". None really guide you really well. Each guitar is different. Good tool though not great IMO.

Well, in my case, I check the tuning of each mandolin string in its pair. I can hear slight differences in pitch between them that my Snark tuner could not, but the TC PolyTune and UniTune can pick up those variations.
