I once rode on this ferry from Picton (South Island) to Wellington, NZ (North Island). It was a magnificent machine able to safely cross the ocean strait with tons of people and cargo aboard. Dependable, strong and true and buoyant. For all these characteristics I don't mind being called a ferry.

Now the sound, thank you for that as well. I am glad you like yours so much. That means a lot as it looks like you have a very nice collection of wonderful guitars. I too can't wait to get this in my hands and drop the E and play that big open D and let the bass ring!!!!

AND, TOP GLUED and CLAMPS applied!!!! WE HAVE A BOX, a beautiful elegant box, but a BOX!!! Look at that rosette!!!

Thanks, it is an exciting part of the build. Nice to see that BRW from the inside also, shows a lot of nice color variation, just as I like it!!!

More work today: Fret board and bindings on the fb...

The first pic is Steve re-radiusing the fret board after the koa bindings were installed.

Next is after the fret board was bound and sanded, it was laid on the body to see how she looked. The flourish on the end will mimic the same on the headstock, an option I asked for long ago when I first saw it on one of Steve's guitars. I am sure getting that curly Koa to make the bends on the flourish was not too easy! The top has also been cut to the right size...

Wow, the mirrored flourishes on headstock / fingerboard are such a tasteful touch. This is looking great, Tom.

Love the end of the fretboard. Really separates the guitar from others. Nice choice Tom and executed very well.

Yes, thank you everyone for the great comments, this is really coming together to be something special I think....and Yes, crack the whip, like what are you doing posting and not working!!!!!

Speaking of working, here are some shots that are not too glamorous, but I insist that Steve send me pics to prove they are working...

The first is Steve using a jig to route out for the end wedge and the next is the wedge being glued into place with a couple of straps to hold it in, and the last is Ryan bending some koa for the bindings....

Here is what the end graft wedge looks like after being glued and cleaned up. BTW, notice how well the grain matched up on that side set!!!

After the end wedge it was time to router the top for the purflings and bindings. Now I don't know about any of you, but that job would scare the crap out of me...taking a router to that top. Everytime I use a router I start and end with a series of chips!!!!!! Steve seemed to handle it well though!!!
