I am doing the fingerboard inlay on the single 0, and thought you might like to see the high tech marking system I use. The pencil is a #2, in case you wondered. I rout it by eye with a 1/32" bit in a Dremel.
Sorry about the focus, but it's too late to go back.   My standard inlay, no upcharge, is a dot pattern, a bird pattern, or none at all. Sometimes I am willing to throw in a more ambitious single inlay at the 7th or 12th fret. This guitar is a bird pattern. No two are the same, so far. Last edited by TomB'sox; 02-26-2020 at 08:04 PM. This weekend I had to run to Petaluma to get a replacement charger for my car, and had a few minutes to stop by Bruces and see what he was up to. He was just starting the set-up on this guitar, and he stopped long enough to throw the strings on and tune it up -
Well, my favorite guitar of Bruces’ is mahogany, and this cuban mahogany may be the best mahogany I’ve seen. Its got a clarity and sweetness of tone thats really special - but I couldn’t spend very much time, had to get back home and get my car charged back up. I’m pretty sure this’ll be an outstanding guitar - once Bruce gets that nut finished up - which he may have done by now! 😉

Very nice, it checks all but one of the boxes. Takeaway the cutaway and that box would be checked too.
That rosette looks especially nice with the purfling that was used. Good choices.

Having survived last fall's heart surgery ordeal, I find myself in the poorest physical condition since I was 40. That's when I started training at windsurfing/bicycling/skiing. Windsurfing and probably skiing are the past, but I have a couple of decent bikes and after a year plus hiatus I am riding to get back my core strength. Right now it's ten miles every other day, weather permitting, and I am luck to live a couple of blocks from the Sonoma county country-side. We've just had a record setting February with no rain whatsoever. It may well be the end of the world, but the weather is great for biking.
Petaluma and my home are just over the ridge:  Here is the 1st tier of bracing on the new Schoenberg: rough (Gibson bracing  ) Finessed:

Great job Bruce, don't over do. Beautiful picture. When we visited, Kathy and I were mesmerized by the hills, just different than you see anywhere else. Quintessential landscape...no wonder you see so many paintings and pictures of the California hillside.

Petaluma and my home are just over the ridge: Showoff! Having had the pleasure to visit the Napa / Sonoma areas for wine country visits, I find myself loving the area! Especially the redwood forests, which make me feel like a kid in the woods again.
