Fred's Moreira Hauser
Hey folks!
First and foremost...thanks so much to J.R. for establishing the nylon string subforum. I think it will be a smash hit and a very active part of the AGF community. I thought I'd share a couple of photos of one of my prized Rodrigo Moreira classicals. This guitar has an interesting story. Rodrigo was commissioned to do some restoration work on Segovia's 1931 Hauser I guitar. Having the infamous Hauser for a limited time, Rodrigo (who excels at making replicas) decided to build a copy of Segovia's Hauser. He told me he made this guitar in just one week...lol! It was built in 2006 and it's sounds amazing...balanced, full, sweet, the trebles are strong and rich. One strum and the guitar reverberates forever...ahhhhhhhh. I did replace the original gotoh tuners with some Sloanes. Cedar top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, 51mm width at the nut. This one goes to the grave with me... [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Thanks for the compliment regarding the guitar. I've been negligent about recording the past year. I'm going to pull out the Zoom H2 in the next few weeks and see if I can capture something worth listening to. Stay tuned.

On the new Moreira Elliot (Spruce / BR) I'm using J45s with a Savarez KF third and I'm happy with the results. Last edited by Dogsnax; 03-26-2010 at 07:02 AM. |
