What is your favorite OO guitar?
It's got to be my OODB Tweedy . As soon as I played it , no picked it up I knew it was mine . Love the neck shape and the size and a tone to die for . Am I worried about the Ritchlite fingerboard and bridge , no I love the feel and it's one of the nicest bursts I've seen as I fingerpick 100% and use a thumbpick it's ideal

For me it is my Brook Lyn. I have not yet come across a 00 that comes close to it in terms of playability. Wonderful neck, exceptional build, and the sweetest voice I have heard on an acoustic. Plenty of volume too. In my opinion the perfect guitar for fingerstyle (and not too shabby at everything else either!).

I would agree that the Gibson and Martin interpretation of 00 guitars are very different. My interpretation of the two is different still. My Larrivee 00-09 (Martin type) is lush and refined. My Waterloo WL-12Mh (Gibson-clone) is very bluesy and loud. I couldn't choose between them.

I LOVED my 00DB as well. Great guitar.
But it has been removed by my Froggy P12 in walnut. Incredible parlor instrument. |

You and me both, brudda! I have mine in my lap as I read this. It's fresh from a swap to a bone saddle, and I'm having a blast with it. I, too, paid $160 for mine, in a scuzzy-looking CL parking lot deal. I was buying it for a friend/student's use, but I quickly decided to keep it and get him something else. Mine's the S6 Cedar Folk. Small guitar, big nut, satisfying sound, terrific value.

I have a Santa Cruz 1929 00 that is pretty special. Made of the prettiest mahogany I've ever seen on a guitar.
Lush tone and really nice sustain. And LOUD for such a small thing!

My '69 Martin 00-18, every time I pick it up I'm amazed by the tone and the playability.

My new Larrivee 00-05. She’s beautiful, easy to play and sings like an angel. Picked up this gem from our friends at Wildwood Music. A custom ordered Italian alpine spruce over quilted mahogany.

If the Gibson style counts, then the LG2. I love my American Eagle and really like the vintage LG2’s as well.
That Larrivee in the post above mine is absolutely stunning. |

The one I just bought of course!
The Larrivee OOV is a new addition and next to it's big sister OO-05 are the only things I'd grab if the condo was on fire. The reason they're my favorites is that I like working out folkie melodies with bass lines using a capo on F#. That puts the notes in similar range that I sing in without tons of bass and open string sustain to compete. Amazingly I can tell the two apart blindfolded, the OO-05 has opened up a lot more. There's a non-cutaway one on eBay now with Larrivee's -40 bracing that I'm now trying to talk myself out of. . .
