I talked to my local Taylor dealer who can do even better than Sweetwater. They seem to be blowing out the T3. I think I'll be ordering a T3/B and throwing in some Lollartrons.

There was a price drop from Taylor for 2014.

No kiddin. How often do guitar prices DECREASE? My price at the local shop for a T3/B is less than Sweetwater's T3. Orange plus Lollartrons it is! Might consider another one later for P90 style pickups.

That's a ridiculous price for a T3, and the store where I got my T5 doesn't seem to have them in stock either....

Yup. Looking at obtaining the pickups. Too good of a deal to pass up.

I just took delivery of a new T3 that I got from Sweetwater. It's my first electric. I love how easy it is to play and the finish and construction are beautiful. I got the natural maple finish, no Bigsby.

Good choice on the lack of Bigsby. I'm having a schizo love/hate relationship with mine.

I'm hoping to order another once I get some Lollartrons in hand.

I finally got around to ordering the Lollartrons. Will order another T3/B when they arrive.

I had a T5, one of the very very early ones when they first came out... flame maple cherryburst over sapele. I really liked it a lot, moreso than the spruce topped, but when I got laid off a few years ago, it went to pay the bills. I know it wasn't intended to be and acouustic replacement, but I would have added a standard saddle piezo...

I have both a T5 and a T3, they are both great guitars.

Just got Lollartrons. I'll talk with my dealer. Might order one when the Road Show comes to town in a few weeks. I'm leaning towards orange, but I might see if there are any custom colors or upgraded tops available.

I know that Taylor refers to T5s as a hybrid of electric and acoustic. I think of my T5 as my thin hollow body electric. I'm an acoustic guy and have played nothing but acoustics for the past many years, but really felt I wanted/needed an electric as well. I tried many dozens of brands/models over the course of a couple years to see what I wanted. The problem with most electrics is that I had difficulty making the transition going back and forth between acoustic neck action/dimensions and electric. The T5 eases that transition for me.
Congratulations on your new guitar... T5's are nice and I really enjoy mine. Of course I also like a lot of other electric guitars as well. Enjoy the T5.

Guitars with 2 strap buttons have better tone.

C'mon... Admit you let yourself in for that.
