Froggy A 12 Adi over Mahogany, very responsive, wonderful tone, loud for its size, and beautifully built

I would be very happy with a Martin 0018, a Bourgeois 00, or Huss & Dalton's various 00s. I've had a chance to play a couple 00s of different flavors from Bourgeois and a couple from H&D, and of course the Martin. But I agree with Andy (Silly M) that for me the best 00 I've played and heard is the Collings 002H. It has a terrific combination of volume, warmth and clarity.

These are incredible guitars, little known and thus seldom thought of, but the 12 fret 00-21 is one of Martin's all-time best guitar designs.

I have one on order from the Martin Custom Shop. I thought about tracking down and buying an older one, but I've never been terribly enthused about either its 1 7/8" nut width or its slotted headstock. So I ordered one with a modern neck profile, 1 3/4" nut and a solid headstock.

Plus, going the Custom Shop route enabled me to get it with an Ambertone top, so that's what I ordered.

Drooling over this!!! May I ask what you are paying for the custom shop? I would love a 12 fret oo Martin. What is the top and sides of your custom shop?

The Larrivee OOV is a new addition and next to it's big sister OO-05 are the only things I'd grab if the condo was on fire.

The reason they're my favorites is that I like working out folkie melodies with bass lines using a capo on F#. That puts the notes in similar range that I sing in without tons of bass and open string sustain to compete. Amazingly I can tell the two apart blindfolded, the OO-05 has opened up a lot more.

There's a non-cutaway one on eBay now with Larrivee's -40 bracing that I'm now trying to talk myself out of. . .
Beautiful!! I love the oo 12 fretters. Looking hard at Larrivee now. thanks

Is it a 12 fret? Pretty much every OO you've listed is on my short list.

Right now I'm still in the honeymoon period with the new Larrivee, which came set up and ready to play out of the box. The Larrivee definitely gets the nod on ease of playing, but it's also a 12 fret and I don't know how much that has affected my opinion. The sound out of this thing is truly amazing. If I had to grab one guitar leaving my burning house it would definitely be this Larrivee. But, having said that, I truly love my 00L whiskey sunset and that distinctive Martin sound so I will not be parting with either. There is, however, a BR-162 12 fetter I purchased before the Larrivee that is now superfluous. If anyone is interested in a new BR-162, a 000 12-fret model from Blueridge, let me know.

Newly acquired Martin CS 00-28 14 fret, 25.4" scale, Swiss Spruce over Guatamalan RW from Vintage Instruments. Really like the sustain and versatility of this long scale model.

probably the martin SS-00LArt Deco-2017. I 'love' the art deco embellishments.
in the real world, probably a martin 00L-17 if I was after a martin.

Why didn't you ask me first Wade! I'd have taken the extra 1/8" inch of neck width off your hands (I must have a spoke-shave plane around here somewhere...) and glued it onto my Martin 00-15, which would then be a more perfect 00 for me.
