Default Teja Gerken "Si Bheag Si Mhor" on a 1960 Gibson LG-2

I had fun shooting my arrangement of "Si Bheag Si Mhor" playing my dad's 1960 Gibson LG-2 while hanging out in my stepmom's flower garden last week. I think it came out quite beautiful:

This is shot using just an iPhone 12 Mini for both the video and the audio, BTW.

Enjoy!

Thank you, Teja. It's always such a pleasure when you take the time to post here. A beautiful arrangement, and what a gem of a guitar!

Wow, beautiful visuals and music. It does not get much better than that! Amazing you did it all with an iPhone!

Nicely arranged, works so well in that tuning. Appreciated the gunshot at the end, kind of a nice twist.

Really nice! And totally not what I expected from an old LG2.

One of my favorite pieces, beautifully played. Lovely garden, as well. Thanks for sharing!

BTW, I shot a demo of this guitar for Peghead Nation a few years ago. Not necessarily my first choice for this kind of a tune, but it obviously works pretty well. The guitar has been in my family since the mid-70s.

Hi Teja,

That was really well done and combining your performance with all the flowers added something special. We have just about all of those flowers in our gardens around our place, so it feels quite a bit like home watching all those flowers going across the screen.

My wife has a 1965 Gibson LG0 that I sometimes play (all mahogany, ladder-braced top), so that sound of those Gibson LG guitars is very familiar to me even though I know the LG2 has an X-braced top and tends to send even better.

Well done, Teja. The O'Carolan piece you chose is known and loved by many people here on the AGF.

I love the idea of filming flowers while you play this fingerstyle arrangement. It is such a nice presentation. You playing is wonderful!

Well that was great. That little guitar has such a beautiful old dry voice, and that song worked perfectly with it. The visuals complemented the song perfectly too! Thanks for posting.

Lovely playing!

The new iPhones are so terrific when it comes to photos and video. They’ve really democratized content creation.
