Default Trying Zoom H6

Hey, everybody! I just wanna share that I just recorded using the Zoom H6 for the first time, and I loved the results. The recording was made in a dock, here in Santos/SP (Brazil), where I live. There was a lot of people around, but they wasn't making much noise. I was worried about the gain settin' in the preamp of the XY stereo mic (I used the 90 degrees mode on it), but it went fine.

It's not an extremelly cheap unit, but it worth every penny! You don't need expensive gear to make nice recordings! I'm really proud of this one!

On the DAW, just a little eq to remove the rumble with a HPF at 90 Hz, a little compression just to make everything a little more cohesive and a touch of reverb (really... just a liiiittle).

Gear used:

Acoustic Guitar: Taylor GS Mini
Recorder: Zoom H6 (XY Stereo Mic @90 degrees)
Camera: Sony a6000 with Sigma 1.4 35mm lens
DAW: Pro Tools HD

Default Way TO GO, RO!

Aloha Rodrigo,

Excellent remote performance & gear behavior on a favorite "Jack' song, "Banana Pancakes."

The H-6 is a pretty impressive little recorder. I also like that lil' mahogany GS Mini too - nice tone & volume in such a small guitar. Pretty impressive results on your new gear & guitar & singing, Ro.

But the laid-back, 'Beach Party Vibe" you presented was a great choice, Ro, & is always very popular. Heck, Jimmy Buffet became a near-billionaire packaging his "Cheeseburger in Paradise" beach vibe brand. I look forward to viewing more creative remote recordings from Braddah Ro! Let your imagination run wild with the possibilities.

Next time, find a friend with a boat! Ha!

Mahalo, Rodrigo! Great Job! You prove that today, it is entirely possible to create good acoustic video recordings or live streams with a minimum of gear. And it's always getting better, & more affordable.

Sounded great!

I'm a fan of the H6 - used one for many years before going to the F8/n series.
