Lightbulb Guitar Shop Closing Down Sales!

Do you know any shops that are offering good deals due to going out of business (or other reasons I guess)?

Wildwood Music (not to be confused with Wildwood Guitars, as I did for some time... ) has some good deals on their site for precisely that reason.

I'll let you know immediately after I've picked out all my bargains - honest...

I am shocked to hear this. I've bought a couple of items from them over the years, and as recently as 6 months ago. It's a wonderful shop with a nice selection of acoustic and folk instruments. I wonder what happened.

Sad, but true. Roland posted a notice in the Marketplace section a couple weeks ago. I stopped in to pay my regards and they still had some nice guitars looking for a home.

The Fretted Frog was doing all right business-wise, but Roland was given a great job opportunity back in France. And he had someone who was going to the manage the business in Pasadena for him so it could stay open, but that fell through and so he's closing instead.

I was in there last week (stopped by to say goodbye and he happened to be there, although the storefront is now closed except by appointment). He still has some great instruments there on significant discount. I'd check out the website.

It is a great loss for Pasadena- we've lost several independent guitar stores in the last few years. And Fretted Frog had a variety of instruments and carried guitars that one doesn't see everywhere.

The String Shoppe in Buffalo NY is moving toward ending it's long tenure as one of Buffalo's best acoustic guitar stores.

What I have heard is that Wildwood is in discussion with another shop about taking over their business.

Sad to hear this. Roland is great guy. He helped with a warranty issue on my Seagull a few years back before he relocated to Pasadena. I also bought a nice nylon string from him too.
