I gave the first one of those back to her parents. Nice lady but... Now the 2nd, she's special and her parents are playing harp somewhere up there. So I think I am lucky to be stuck or maybe she is stuck with me actually. May have to have a liquidation sale on Reverb.

Thanks guys. Now, to reassure the better half, we also offer marital counseling at no upcharge. You'll both be happier!

Back from the West Coast and ready to finish this year strong. There's still a lot of building left in this year, and we've been busy. I've been a little remiss in posting build shots, but here's a couple new shots.

The fourth guitar in our "shop" series is a Sitka Spruce/Oregon Myrtle OM. Almost a completely West Coast guitar, it will be bound in Claro Walnut as well as most other decorations. Woody is the feel we're going for. I hope you like it. I also updated the first post to use as an index for some of this year's builds.

Jumping right in most of the way through, fitting the Brazilian bridge to the top.

A look at the sides:

A shot of the front before finish:

And the back:

More to come soon...Thanks for looking.

Wow--that's a corker, guys! Woody is a good descriptive term--looks very organic and I've not doubt it will sound tremendous as well! What is the fretboard material?

The fretboard is Macassar Ebony. We wanted a little more brown in the front. It has since been inlaid with gold pearl diamonds and squares as well as fretted with gold EVO wire. This matches the golden brown of the back wonderfully.

Did you do something to the bridge, inlay the ends with the walnut? It looks really really cool....

Very nice guys. Myrtle has always intrigued me, and this isn't doing anything to quell my curiosity!

No, the bridge is just straight Brazilian Rosewood that is a grayish brown - not that dissimilar to walnut. I think in the full guitar shot, the lighting is coming down from right above the guitar and causing an interesting shadow. Thanks for the compliment though.

Dan, we're here to satisfy curiosities.

Well you saw what I was seeing right? Looks pretty cool! The lighting was perfect so it was perfectly bilaterally symmetrical. Any future guitars you may want to try something like that on?????

Everyone following this "build/shop" thread only sees the products in various stages. However, the Kinnaird magic is in the sound and playing of one of these instruments. Magic can't fully describe it. I urge anyone thinking about a custom build or purchase (if there are any available) to seriously look at one of Steve's guitars. If there is a cure for GAS - these are it. OR they just make one want to sell, scrimp and save for a special one-of-a-kind guitar. I purchased mine after hearing it for a few seconds. That's all it takes.

That and they are great to work with. I've heard horror stories about working with some builders but that's not the case at S. Kinnaird Guitars.
