Default used Eastman 504 or new Eastman 304

Apples to apples... hard cases on both... k&K installed on both... what would you choose? Same price OTD

What is the difference between the 504 and the 304? Just gloss finish? I like the matte finish by the way. Sound different?

Thanks guys.

The 5 series should have better hardware, tuners, bridge and tailpiece, but ultimately, I would choose the one that sounds better, and that may or may not be the higher model. Eastman mandolins are like that.

Lots more binding on the 500 series too. Basic sound is the same. I'm all for used because you will upgrade someday and not loose money on it.
