Default Stormy, 1967

Stormy, by Dennis Yost and the Classics IV, 1967

The band, founded by Dennis Yost, is known mainly for the hits "Spooky," "Stormy," and "Traces," released 1967 to 1969, which have become cover standards. I love these songs, truly classics from the sixties.

Stormy weather for a lot of people around the world.

Pray for Peace in Ukraine!

Wow, wow, wow! I don’t know if it’s because it touches my life’s soundtrack of 60’s AM radio, but man you nailed this and made it 100% yours.
You rock, CoolCat!

Interestingly, Classics IV members J.R. Cobb and Dean Daughtry went on to join with three members of a band called the Candymen to form The Atlanta Rhythm Section. The lead guitarist of that band was one Barry Bailey, who just died three days ago.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for sharing this info.
I am a big fan of the group.
May the soul of Barry Bailey Rest In Peace.
I did not know the Candymen and the ARS stories, thanks for that.
Respectfully,
Rene

Hi Renee!

That was really nice and just right for the conditions of the world right now...

Your approach to this Classics IV song is like Classics IV meets Erik Satie. Very nice!

Oh, that hits a nerve! This was so correct on so many levels! And for those of us old enough to have been there, you hit this out of the park! Well done, my man!!

Hi bluesguy63,
Hi KevWind,
Hi Sage Runner,

Thanks for your time and beautiful comments.
The guitar I am playing is a nylon Cordoba 45FCE, Made in Spain.
I tuned this guitar down 1/2 step to Eb, sounds more deeper, and lower to fit my pitch.
This particular song really takes me back years, and we all grew up with beautiful songs of our generation, and this is one of them for sure.
Your participation and wonderful comments are very much appreciated.
Respectfully,
Rene
