Cracking the MIDI code with a Frameworks MIDI guitar
Dear guitarists,
with this wonderful guitar built by Frank Krocker in Germany I can finally play the iconic piano parts I have dreamed of since childhood. I use a Roland GI 20 interface and Pianoteq/Gig Performer for the sounds. I hope you like it. https://youtu.be/dwMmy06aMZI |

That was awesome!
I loved the Tubular Bells. You do have MIDI figured out, congrats and good job. I just got a synth setup. Any tips on transposing sheet music to guitar tab? Tubular Bells is one of my goals.

Thanks for your kind words - I am glad you liked it.
I have been using midi guitars for 30 years now and finally the sounds have reached the quality that I was hoping for all along. About turning sheet music into tabs - do you mean just converting them or are you asking about the process of arranging? The plain conversion is easily done with the free version of Steinbergs Dorico - you put in the notes and copy them onto a tab stave. Arranging is a lot more complex as for that it is very helpful to know all the notes on the fretboard. For Tubular Bells I used the open e-string for the repeated e and played the other notes in the 12th position on the g & b-strings. I hope that helps a little and I wish you lots of fun on your midi guitar journey! |
